Allan Thomas
Allan Thomas began singing in New York City at the
age of 12 when he joined an acapella singing
group that performed at local events. After his first
album, "A Picture" was released by Sire Records in 1971,
he began touring the United States with other bands.
From 1974 to 1979 he performed and recorded with then
wife Carole Cook, and in 1979 he formed the
Santa Monica Bay Band. In 1983 Allan decided he
wanted to get a way from the Los Angeles scene and
he moved Hawaii, where he developed a new sound
that can be heard on his Hawaii influenced recordings
"The Island" and "Coconut Culture", both released
on his own Black Bamboo Recordings Label.
