January 2006 Genoa Keawe Photos
The two pictures below of Genoa Keawe performing were taken
at the Moana Terrace Lounge of the Marriott Waikiki Hotel
in January of 2006. Aunty Genoa performed at the Waikiki Marriott
almost every Thursday night for the last 14 years of her life.
October 2006 Genoa Keawe Photo
The picture below of Aunty Genoa was taken at the October
2006 Falsetto Contest on Oahu where Aunty Genoa sang a duet with
young falsetto singer
Raiatea Helm. Aunty Genoa sang from
the audience and Raitea sang from the stage. What a fantastic
show! That year the contest was held in the Monarch Showroom
of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki.

The two pictures below are the last photos I took of
of Aunty Genoa Keawe. They were taken while she
being honored while sitting in the audience
at the 2007 Falsetto Singing Contest at the Sheraton Waikiki
Hotel in Honolulu. The contest took place a month before
her 89th birthday celebration and about five months before
she passed away in February of 2008.
