Facts About Na Leo and Na Leo Pilimehana
Group was originally called Na Leo Pilimehana
Members Nalani Choy, Lehua Kalima Heine, and Angela Morales
sang together in their high school glee club.
In 1984, when they were 17 year old high school seniors they entered and won
an amateur music contest called "Brown Bags to Stardom".
Their prize was a recording contract, and their first album was
"Local Boys"
In 1985 their "Local Boys' album won the Na Hoko Hanohano
award for best single of the year.
The band reformed in In 1993, and they released an album called "Friends". The sing
in 1994. The song "Friends" on that album won the Na Hoku Hanohano award
for single of the year.
IN 1995 they released the album "Flying With Angels" on
their own record label, NLP Music. That album won
four Na Hoku Hanohano awards in 1996.
In 2001 the group changed their name to Na Leo
