December 3, 2009. The winner of the 2009 Hawaiian
Music Grammy was announced at an awards
ceremony in downtown Los Angeles on February 8, 2009.

The winner of the 2009 Grammy Award issued by the National Academy
of Recording Arts and Sciences for the best Hawaiian music album
released between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2008
was the "Ikena" album featuring Tia Carrera and Daniel Ho.

Other albums nominated for the 2009 Hawaiian music Grammy

More About the 2009 Hawaiian Grammy Awards
2009 Grammy Awards Ceremony
In May of 2008 theNational Academy of Recording Arts
and Sciences announced the 2009 Grammy Awards Ceremony
will take place February 8, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles,
California. All of the Academy Awards ceremonies
since 2000 have been held at Staples Center
except in 2003 when they were held in New York.
Grammy Award Eligibility Period
The 2009 Hawaiian Music Grammy Award will recognize
a Hawaiian music album released between October 1, 2007 and
September 30, 2008.
2009 Grammy Award TV Broadcast
The 2009 Grammy Awards Ceremony will be broadcast
live on CBS Television with a tape delay for
viewers on the U.S. West Coast (I'm not certain
if Hawaii viewers will also have that tape delay,
but it is likely).
New Grammy Museum in Los Angeles
The new Grammy Museum opened in December of 2009.
It is approximately 30,000 square feet in size and it
is located next to Staples Center in Downtown Los
Angeles. Staples Center is part of the L.A. Live Entertainment
Complex that also includes the Nokia Theatre.
