2006 Oahu Falsetto Contest
Announcement, photos, and results of Photos and results of
the 2006 Aloha Festivals Falsetto Contest ib tge island
of Oahu in Hawaii.
1st Place: Bill Kapahu Lyman
Bill Kapahu Lyman won the 12th Annual Aloha Festivals Hawaiian Falsetto
Contest held at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel Monarch Room. He received a
recording contract with Hula Records, $500, a weekend get-away for
two including round-trip airfare, hotel and transportation accommodations,
and a $250 gift basket from Hawaiian Host.

2nd Place: H. Kainoa Kaneakua
The second place winner, H. Kainoa Kaneakua, received $300 and entry into
the 2007 Clyde "Kindy" Sproat Falsetto and Storytelling Contest at Hapuna
Beach Prince Hotel on the Big Island, including roundtrip airfare,
two-nights hotel accommodation, and $150 gift basket from Hawaiian Host.
3rd Place: Michael Mina
The third place winner, Michael Mina (runner-up from the 2006 Maui Contest),
received $200 and entry to the 2007 Maui Richard Hoopii Falsetto and
Storytelling Contest, including roundtrip airfare, two nights hotel
accommodation, and a $100 gift basket from Hawaiian Host.
4th Place: Steven Young
The fourth place winner, Stephen Young, received $100 and entry into the
2007 Kauai Falsetto Contest, including roundtrip airfare, one night
hotel accommodation, and a $50 gift basket from Hawaiian Host.

Hawaiian Language Award
In addition to being the first place finisher, Bill Kapahu Lyman also
won the Hawaiian Language Award and received $300,
a getaway for two including two-nights hotel accommodation and round-trip
airfare, and a $50 gift basket from Hawaiian Host. Bill Kapahu Lyman
won the contest singing "Waiomina".
